This role is responsible for understanding and working with technical, operational and business stakeholders to develop infrastructure as code automation scripting and create secure cloud environment.


- Monitor for threats and vulnerabilities through a combination of automated and manual processes and respond accordingly. As a continuous feedback loop, incorporate learnings into additional preventive and detective controls.
- Research and develop risk mitigating approaches and drive response and remediation.
- Expand the usage of security monitoring tools to improve the security of the environment, including detection, prevention and policy enforcement.
- Define security configuration for monitoring tools, including alerts, correlation rules, and reporting.
- Leverage a combination of vendor products and services, open source and custom developed utilities.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for security monitoring and incident response related knowledge domain and tools.
- Drive automation and orchestration to improve efficiency and effectiveness of security monitoring and response processes.
- Document processes and procedures in the form of playbooks and reference guides.
- Integrate processes and technologies, with the objective of the continued development of a "single pane of glass" for monitoring and comprehensive security response process.
- Stay abreast of the latest information security controls, practices, techniques and capabilities in the marketplace.
- Lead internal skills development activities for information security personnel on the topic of security monitoring and incident response, by providing mentoring and by conducting knowledge sharing sessions.
- Provide input to business cases and presentations to senior IT leadership of proposed security products and studies. Produce operating metrics and key performance indicators.
- Provide input into the security monitoring and response strategy (or subcomponents). Manage plans that align with the strategy. Track progress against plans.
- Research and develop vulnerability mitigation strategies, in accordance with industry best practices, which can be immediately implemented by the appropriate technical teams. Provide ongoing subject matter expert support for all remediation/mitigation processes. Platform Operations - Monitor and recommend improvements. Perform optimization and tuning, as well as ongoing capacity monitoring.
- Onboard new systems and environments to security monitoring services (i.e. both internal tools and third party services).
- Maintain inventory of cloud environments · Verify proper configuration of cloud environments for monitoring readiness Strong verbal/written communications skills. This role is responsible for understanding and working with technical, operational and business stakeholders to develop infrastructure as code automation scripting and create secure cloud environment.
