Job description

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Portuguese labor law, fluent English proficiency, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately processing payroll for employees and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner, including calculating wages, deductions, and bonuses
  • Ensure compliance with Portuguese labor law and other relevant regulations
  • Handle payroll queries and resolve any issues or discrepancies
  • Prepare and maintain payroll records and reports
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll processes
  • Stay updated on changes to labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance
  • Provide support during audits and assist with payroll-related inquiries
  • Continuously improve payroll processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing or a similar role
  • Strong understanding of Portuguese labor law and regulations
  • Fluent in English (both verbal and written)
  • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office applications
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
