Our company is looking for a multi-skilled content creator responsible for crafting clear, concise, and compelling content that inspires readers to take desired actions. We are looking for a crafty wordsmith with a knack for design, who can demonstrate a proven track record of producing engaging content that drives conversions.

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have a fluent understanding of the English language, strong writing communication skills, proficiency using design tools such as Canva/Adobe, and a desire to learn about different industries in order to create content for a variety of topics. This position is full-time and remote (with the option of working in our Toronto office if requested).

Content Creator Responsibilities:

  • Writing, reviewing, and editing copy for our/our clients’ social media channels, websites, print/digital material, ads, blogs, etc.
  • Creating graphics and templates for our/our clients’ social media channels, websites, print/digital material, ads, blogs, email campaigns, etc.
  • Assist in ideating campaigns, content calendars, and content pillars/topics
  • Develop taglines, headlines, and other short-form copy that communicates our/our clients’ value
  • Write effective conversion copy for websites, videos, blogs, landing pages, email sequences, and print and digital campaigns
  • Write, review, and edit email copy for newsletters, sales emails, promotions, and more
  • Develop and maintain a clear and consistent brand voice and brand guidelines for each of our/our clients’ brands
  • Write informational copy for infographics, flyers, and brochures within different industries, including marketing, sales, tech, infrastructure, hospitality, health & wellness, and more
  • Collaborate on search engine optimization (SEO) strategy and initiatives, including titles and call-to-actions for landing pages, blogs, digital and print campaigns
  • Analyze content marketing metrics and propose changes to increase engagement and conversions
  • Work closely with other team members to fine-tune copy and visuals for clear on-brand communication

Content Creator Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience creating strong, engaging content in a content creator, content writer/strategist or a similar role
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field OR Diploma in Graphic Design, Media, Communications, or related field
  • Expertise in short-form and long-form copy for conversion and branding, including adapting style and content to fit the audience and purpose
  • Technical aptitude for understanding and marketing difficult concepts, such as technology, infrastructure, health, etc.
  • High level of proficiency with graphic design programs, either (or both!) of the following: Canva and/or Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom and Acrobat)
  • Proficiency in video creation/editing programs, such as Premiere Pro or After Effects are an asset, but not required
  • Experience with content research and experimentation to optimize results
  • Natural ability to write for readability, clarity, voice, tone and branding
  • A team-building approach to giving and receiving creative feedback
  • Strong copy editing abilities and attention to detail
  • Exceptional typographic layout skills, specialized knowledge of methods and techniques of graphic design, colour theory and layout, and high-level execution
  • Experience in preparing and troubleshooting final files with a good problem-solving ability and a proactive approach
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing work priorities, demands and changes
  • Passion for product and an eye for quality
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
  • High level of competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Competency in using email providers such as Gmail
  • Competency in video conferencing softwares, such as Zoom, Google Hangouts, etc.
  • Competency in programs such as HubSpot, Asana, Slack, an asset but not required.
  • Technology Requirements:
    • High-quality computer with clear camera, video, and audio
    • Fast Internet connection
    • High-quality headset with clear microphone (e.g. AirPods or similar is sufficient)
    • Quiet space to work from

Content Creator Compensation:

  • $35,000/year – $65,000/year based on experience & portfolio
