About System2

At System2 Technologies Corp. (https://www.getsystem2.com), our vision is to bring the experience of having a personal fitness trainer to everyone. We accomplish this by combining elite human coaches with cutting-edge computer vision & AI algorithms.

We are a San Francisco-based, fully remote Series-A stage company founded by prominent Silicon Valley venture capital firms. System2 founders Dilan Dane & Yuran Lu are ex-MIT serial entrepreneurs who've previously built and sold companies to Google, Dropbox etc.

System2 is looking to grow our remote engineering team and we are looking for talented engineering leaders to help us grow our engineering organization.

Your Role

As the Director/VP of Engineering, you will:

  • Build, lead and manage an efficient team of engineers.

  • Work directly with the founders and senior management to define goals for the engineering organization and make sure they are aligned with company objectives.

  • Partner with other departments and stakeholders to define long-term goals, roadmaps, and timelines.

  • Establish and implement best practices for a remote-first engineering team to produce impeccable results.

  • Be actively involved in making decisions around the team's development process.

  • Mentor and guide engineering team leads, infusing new strategies and methodologies.

  • Have end-to-end ownership of product features and guide product-related decisions.

  • Craft a caring and excellent culture throughout the team.

  • Help build us a product that our users genuinely love!

Director/VP of Engineering Requirements:
  • A minimum of 10+ years of technical experience, with recent experience in a senior leadership role.

  • Extensive experience in building, guiding, and managing engineering teams.

  • Track record of designing and architecting scalable, complex systems.

  • Proficiency in JS / React is preferred but not required.

  • Proven experience managing remote teams is considered a plus.

Ideally, you...
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written are mandatory.

  • Proactive and independent, with the ability to set your objectives and orchestrate your performance.

  • Eagerness to develop systems and processes to foster a high-performing remote culture.
