As the General Manager of the CONFIDENTIAL Business Unit, you will lead and manage all business operations of a $3 million revenue business unit focused on selling communications solutions to regulated industries. This role requires a dynamic leader with strong SaaS business model acumen, an understanding of the telecommunications industries, and experience in driving revenue growth and operational excellence.

Essential Job Functions

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and achieve revenue targets.
  • Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics to inform product development and sales strategies.
  • Lead market expansion initiatives and identify opportunities for new revenue streams within the utility sector.

Sales, Marketing, And Business Development

  • Drive sales efforts to acquire new utility customers and expand the business with existing clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in utility companies.
  • Define & implement effective sales strategies, pricing models, and promotional activities.
  • Monitor sales performance metrics to achieve growth targets.
  • Evaluate and foster alternative sales / reseller channels.

Product Management

  • Work closely with the ARCOS product development team to enhance existing communication solutions and develop new products/features tailored to utility industry needs.
  • Define product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies to drive adoption and market penetration.
  • Gather customer feedback and market insights to inform product roadmap prioritization and development efforts.

Operations And Financial Management

  • Manage the business unit budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure efficient and cost-effective operations while maintaining high-quality standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze financial performance metrics and implement strategies to optimize profitability and operational efficiency.

Team Leadership And Development

  • Coordinate a small cross functional team to ensure alignment between marketing, sales, product, and technology initiatives.
  • Directly manage 3-person go-to-market team; coordinate additional 4-person product & technology team to drive business unit outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the business unit.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field, or the equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of success in sales leadership roles within the software or technology industry, with specific experience in utility companies preferred.
  • Strong understanding of utility industry trends, regulatory environment, and customer challenges.
  • Excellent strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth, manage P&L, and deliver results in a dynamic and competitive market.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%, including domestic and international. Ability to travel by air is mandatory. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

The targeted base salary range for this position is $170k - $200k based on relevant skills, experience and other job related knowledge, with an annual bonus eligibility of up to 20% of the base salary, depending on company and individual performance.
