Description

FS Staffing is seeking a Senior NVIDIA Omniverse Developer for a sensitive project within the Forestry Industry. The project involves utilizing Point Cloud data provided by Foresters, along with their “prescription” provided by their client to digitally prepare the forest for timber sale and logging operations. Omniverse is an important toolset to build on due to its collaborative functionality and modularity for additional feature sets. The game engine used to assist in managing the point clouds is Unreal Engine 5. Between these two platforms, we will be creating a new platform that can be used offline or in real time with multiple users. This platform will support deployment on multiple devices including, but not limited to, Microsoft Hololens 2, Laptops, Tablets, and Oculus 3. Other device platforms will be considered based on the needs of their field workers and subject matter experts. The ideal candidate will have Expertise in NVIDIA Omniverse with experience or knowledge in other technologies including Unreal Engine 5, Microsoft Mixed Reality Tool Kit, 3LiDAR scanning, Point Clouds, Photogrammetry, cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence in computer vision, large language models, and robotic process automation. The candidate will contribute to developing an advanced forestry management digital twin platform, using cutting-edge AI and AR/VR technologies. The ideal candidate will have professional client-facing experience, being able to present with the Program Manager, Managing Director, and Product Manager, and other team members. This role may require occasional travel within the United States. This platform will be the basis to bring to other Industry clients in the Energy and Manufacturing sectors and will be built in a modular fashion to accommodate a variety of other use cases while maintaining a user-friendly interface

What you'll be doing

● Work in tandem with other Unreal Engine 5 and Omniverse Developers, creating a seamless integration of the toolsets for simple deployment.

● Work with stakeholders to align feature requirements and prioritize the functionality of the project

● Manipulate and analyze point clouds derived from LiDAR and photogrammetry.

● Integrate cloud computing solutions and computer vision techniques to analyze point clouds.

● Work with large language models and robotic process automation to enhance platform capabilities.

● Create forestry-specific analytics based off point cloud data

● Design, build and deploy cloud-native as well as hybrid applications with an emphasis on high availability, speed of delivery, and maintainability.

● Extend and maintain a library-centric microservice framework and platform purpose-built for Omniverse scale, including various layers of GIS, and other visualization tools over the point cloud data.

● Write easily maintainable code with attention to detail, and good extensibility while handling deliverables.

● Contribute to the team’s engineering practices including Agile methodology, using your experience to improve software development tools and methods.

● Create simple animations, buttons, 3D assets, and UI features for easy use.
