Our office located in Lincoln, RI is seeking a Customer Care Representative. This position involves telephone contact to sell policies and service existing accounts. Candidates should have previous sales and service experience, a professional telephone manner, and the ability to work well with others. Must be able to pass state insurance license exam and meet continuing education requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Convert advertising, direct mail, and other warm leads into new business by handling countrywide inbound telephone calls
  • Meet individual and department objectives and apply sales skills while soliciting and cross-selling all personal lines of insurance
  • Conduct professional telephone conversations to service existing accounts in a high call volume environment
  • Problem-solve and use time effectively to multitask and prioritize work
  • Collaborate with others in a team setting
  • Gain customer trust and respect by establishing and maintaining effective relationships
  • Service customer accounts utilizing knowledge of legal terminology, policy language, and home construction 
  • Meet production goals, as shown through policies written and Amica Life referrals
  • Demonstrate a high standard of customer service to retain existing policyholders

Salary and Hours

Our starting annual salary range is $41,053 ($21.05/hr) - $49,900 ($25.59/hr) based on level of experience and applicable licenses withing the Property and Casualty Industry. The 37.5-hour work schedule will be Monday through Friday between the core hours of 8:45 AM and 5 PM and will include a few holidays and Saturdays per year.

Work from home may be available up to two days a week once trained and work independently.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education required
  • Previous customer service and sales experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Computer keyboard and processing skills
  • Previous insurance background is a plus, but not required
  • After hire, employees will be required to obtain a state insurance license and meet continuing education requirements to maintain their license (comprehensive training will be provided)
