Job description

We are looking for Business Analyst Consultants specialized with Maximo located in the Toronto area to participate in various projects for major clients of the company STI Maintenance & Technologies. This is an opportunity to work with one of the largest CMMS software integration service providers in Information Technology (IT) in Quebec, but also one of the largest Maximo integration team in Eastern Canada.

As a freelance consultant you will work directly with our clients. You will have the opportunity to participate in large-scale projects that can last up to 18 months! Your main mission will be to analyze the client's processes and needs in order to transmit all necessary information to the developers in charge of the project. You will also ensure that the final product meets the client's expectations.

Here is an overview of the responsibilities that await you if you join their network of consultants :

 

Analysis :

  • Organize and facilitate business process definition workshops in collaboration with clients.

  • Understand the client's needs and collect the necessary information;

  • Analyze the processes in place and see how to adapt Maximo to them;

  • Mapping business processes and documenting gaps.


 

Leadership and problem solving :

  • Meet with the development team to explain the project;

  • Be the intermediary between the development team and the client.



Quality insurance :

  • Validate the functional quality of the work done by the developers;

  • Validate that the user experience is in line with the client's expectations.



Trainings & longevity :

  • Guiding the training department in the processes so they can build the appropriate training program for the employees;




As an example, here are the missions of one of their mandates :

  • Lead the business process analysis and Maximo Solution functional design, conduct feasibility assessment and advice on options for optimal solution;

  • Planning and execution of end-user workshops to elicit requirements, guide users through Maximo options;

  • Demonstrate/Train/guide selected users on standard Maximo functionality as and when needed;

  • Lead/support the development of the appropriate Maximo related training materials;

  • Lead the requirements documentation and approvals;

  • Leading the Maximo Application and System configurations verifications to ensure they are in line with the requirements;

  • Support the development of project management related documents including technical analysis and design documents, functional system specifications, implementation and support guides, Unit Test cases, user training materials, system support documents, presentations and status progress reports;

  • Support QA teams through functional and regression testing and UAT;

  • Deployment and Go Live Support;

  • Support the Change Management lead to advise on best ways to support the users through the change process.

Required (experience and qualification, language) :

  • Be 100% self-directed;

  • Bilingual or English speaking (English speaking clients);

  • Minimum 5 years experience with Maximo.



Position Challenges :

  • Participate in large-scale government projects of 6 to 18 months duration;

  • The mandates to be carried out are diversified in business fields such as aluminum smelters, mines, ports, infrastructures, transportation, etc.

  • Know how to adapt to the requirements and needs of each client;



Recent achievements :

  • Société transport de l'Outaouais: manage a fleet of more than 300 buses, 24 hours a day (contract management, warranty, procurement)

  • Ministry of Education: implement Maximo in 72 school boards

  • Integration of Maximo :
    • Société québécoise des infrastructures;

    • Montreal and Quebec City Gateway;

    • Montreal, Quebec City and Sherebrooke;



Working conditions :

  • Hybrid telecommuting in Toronto :
    • some mandates require a physical presence from time to time;

    • It is also possible to participate only in virtual projects;
