The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for maintaining financial transactions, including logging payments, handling chargebacks, and maintaining bank and merchant statements. This role focuses on ensuring accurate financial records and supporting the accounting team's operations.

 

AORN is based in Denver, CO. Our Accounting Coordinator will work in a hybrid capacity with at least 2 days in the office. This is a part-time position up to 30 hours per week.

 

More about what you’ll get to do as our Accounting Coordinator:

  • Maintains Cash Log Workbook for ACH/Wires, LockBox payments, and remote deposits.
  • Manages various incoming payments and processes them according to established procedures
  • Identifies and researches chargebacks and collaborates with the team to resolve issues promptly
  • Secures and manages bank statements and merchant statements
  • Enters cash entries for remote deposits into the Operating Bank Account and clears checks in Microsoft Dynamics for reconciliation and record-keeping
  • Assists with the AR Inbox and responds to internal and external staff and customers
  • Verifies transaction details against background information for accuracy and compliance.
  • Completes vendor forms accurately and in a timely manner
  • Retrieves, sorts and scans mail
  • Manages miscellaneous billing and assists with Accounts Receivable tasks as needed
  • Serves as backup for Accounts Payable as needed
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications

Must Have’s to be our Accounting Coordinator:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience using Microsoft office Suite, particularly Excel and Word

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in banking or similar financial roles

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and handling pressure.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
  • Ability to interact professionally with different levels of staff. Effective organizational skills including the ability to work under tight time constraints using time management and prioritization skills to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to keep restricted information confidential.
  • Ability to demonstrate and hold others accountable for organizational values of: Innovation, Communication, Quality, Diversity, Equity and inclusion, and Achievement.

 

Working Conditions
Working remotely, using a computer, telephone and Teams daily. Ability to travel as needed in support of department and Association initiatives.

 

Hiring Salary Range:  $23 - $25 per hour.

 

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
