Senior Full Stack Developer (m/f/d) Engineering Manager

Seize this opportunity and support our team in Munich or at one of our other locations or remotely across Germany, starting immediately in fulltime as Engineering Manager (m/f/d).

As an Engineering Manager at IU, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing a team of four talented engineers within your assigned squad. Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering in your Tribe of Domains, you will be responsible for the people aspects of your engineers, including training and career development, performance management, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture. In addition to your people management responsibilities, you will also be actively involved in software development activities yourself, spending a significant portion of your time contributing to the squad's projects and initiatives.

• Technologies: VueJS 3 and Nuxt 3 with TypeScript; StoryBlok CMS via RestAPI; NodeJS; Vite; TailwindCSS; ChatGPT Integrations; Microservices with PHP 8.3 and Laravel
• Optional Knowledge: Kafka, AWS Kubernetes, AWS Cloudfront, AWS Serverless Aurora, GitLab Pipelines, Cloudinary

YOUR TASKS

• Provide strong leadership and direction to your engineering team of 4, guiding them towards achieving squad goals and objectives as well as mentoring and coaching individual contributors, supporting their growth and development.
• Work closely with the Technical Lead and Product Owner to align squad efforts with the overall product roadmap and objectives.
• Ensure the successful delivery of committed business outcomes, meeting agreed upon timelines and quality standards.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to your team members. Support career growth and progression for individual contributors, providing guidance on career paths and opportunities within the organization.
• As a pivotal member of our agile team, you will still work directly on our websites utilizing our whole tech stack and focus on enhancing the websites through AI-powered features and services to attract new customers and continue to improve our conversion rate.

YOUR PROFILE

• Proven experience in managing and mentoring small groups of Individual Contributors.
• You should have a deep understanding of web technologies, a keen eye for design, and a proven track record of improving UX/UI.
• You have solid experience with TypeScript and frameworks like VueJS and proficiency in object-oriented PHP, SQL, and Laravel.
• You have an extensive background in design systems, dynamic data integration, and automation to create user-centric, visually appealing solutions.
• Experience in implementing and driving Agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, within engineering teams.
• Ability to inspire and motivate teams.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
