Job Description

Manufacturing Digital Engineering (MDE) Product line is looking for a software support specialist to join our team of passionate technical specialists, software engineers, and product managers dedicated to build & support software products for our Manufacturing Engineers and Plant Floor specialists.

As a key member of our Manufacturing I.T. team, you will play a critical part in shaping the future of Ford’s mobility and electrification efforts. You will be part of a team of dedicated software professionals that will help us to iteratively build and ship high-quality software products to help our customers build quality vehicles.

Manufacturing Digital Engineering (MDE) is responsible for providing the tools to manufacturing engineers so that they may deliver new vehicle programs, including launch and continuous plant optimization. We enable state-of-the-art technologies used to visualize the facility digital twin for facility planning and immersive training using Augmented Reality. Our team develops and supports solutions to enable the growth of 3D printing for additive manufacturing at Ford.

This position is hybrid with the expectation of being on-site with the team 2-3 days a week in the Dearborn, MI area. **

Responsibilities**

Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end solution development and support for Additive Manufacturing operations solutions, both commercial off-the-shelf and internally developed, including solutions for: printer monitoring, data management, request management & more.
  • Provide end-to-end solution development and support for augmented and virtual reality immersive training and factory visualization software solutions both commercial off-the-shelf and internally developed
  • Work with the technology suppliers to escalate and resolve Ford issues
  • Establish strong working relationship with manufacturing stakeholders to ensure that plans and requirements are fully understood and issues are resolved effectively and efficiently

Qualifications

Required Skills :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in: Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 2+ year of experience as a software engineer proficient in of designing, building, implementing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed, highly available systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as: Python, C#, .NET, Java, Unity and related technologies.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Team-oriented with excellent oral/written communication skills and willingness to work with global teams
  • Willingness to be on site in Dearborn area 2-3 days a week

Desired Skills:

  • Technical experience with deployment of commercial off-the-shelf software
  • Experience with 3D CAD PLM systems, i.e. Teamcenter, Vault, 3DX
  • Experience with Augmented/Virtual Reality and 3D printing technologies
  • Knowledge of Cloud technologies: GCP, Azure
  • Manufacturing background
  • Experience shaping and driving Proof of Concepts and Pilots
  • Experience with continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies
