Job description
Your missions
Ready to further your career in the fast-paced, exciting world of cyber security?
Arctic Wolf, with its unicorn valuation, is the leader in security operations in an exciting and fast-growing industry—cybersecurity. We have won countless awards for our excellence in security operations and remain dedicated to providing an industry-leading customer and employee experience.
Our mission is simple: End Cyber Risk. We’re looking for a Senior Principal Architect to be part of making this happen.
About the Role
As a Senior Principal Architect, you will begin with a focus on the strategy and lifecycle for APIs and SDK clients as holistic products of Arctic Wolf. You will provide a user experience (UX) first approach focused on understanding how our APIs will be used, what both our internal and external customers want, how we should position our offerings, and how we will interact with other API providers. You’ll be responsible for providing architectural and thought leadership for this area and may subsequently move to other areas of focus.
Defining the architecture strategy and API lifecycle for our APIs and SDK clients.
Treating APIs and SDKs as a holistic product, working with stakeholders to understand what customers want, and providing insight on industry trends.
Focusing on user experience first, on how our APIs and their clients will be intuited and consumed by customers, and by our own teams and UIs.
Levelling up our maturity for how to position each interface based on how they will be consumed, what the market needs, and how they are willing to pay for them.
Defining Api Management strategies to protect the APIs and help us operate them, and knowing and communicating the impact of changes on your audience.
Providing insights on setting up developer outreach and communications, and establishing and participating in a community of experts that will shape the APIs and SDKs.
Providing insights and best practices for our interactions and dependencies on other API providers, pitfalls and creating robustness, and building relationships to communicate with them.
Looking at and adopting best practices, frameworks, and paradigms from companies who do this well.
Required Skills and Experience
Experience with API and SDK strategies and best practices, and the API lifecycle, requirements, specification and documentation, tooling, testing, packaging and positioning.
Experience designing APIs and SDKs as a holistic product, considering what customers want, how they will be used, and creating competitive offerings for how customers use them.
Experience with API management and maintenance, versioning strategies, patterns and best practices, audience communication, testing, and adoption strategies.
Understanding of developer outreach and communications, developer communities around an API ecosystem, and developer relations.
Experience in designing for usability, scalability, reliability, with experience in rate limits and data transfer concerns, access controls, capabilities and licensing.
Experience designing for quality and resilience, understanding and predicting failure scenarios, and how to measure and monitor service health.
History of demonstrating technical leadership by recognizing and tackling problems in a systemic way and rolling out change across an organization.
