Accounts Receivable Specialist
The Billing Team at College Board is a close knit, dedicated team of 16 people committed to providing exceptional customer support for billing, collections, payment, and exceptions processing to support both consumer and institutional products/services. This team owns the electronic payment relationships of College Board, the Ecommerce platform, and is responsible for PCI compliance for credit card payments. This team is responsible for over $1 billion in revenue.
As the Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will work with the Billing team to provide customer support for collections, billing, payment inquiries related to Accuplacer, Membership, Workshop Registrations, Retiree Medical Premiums and College Board Subtenants.
Perform collections and dispute resolution for your accounts.
Perform customer account reconciliations and post adjustments as needed in Workday and IOT (Institutional Ordering Tool).
Create manual invoices through Workday for transactional invoices that could not flow through the automated interface.
Review and approve overpayment refunds proposed by the Payments team associated with your accounts.
Reconcile payment adjustments to billing system.
Update invoices with assigned purchase orders received from the Contracts Team and customer.
Review, research and accurately process all unapplied and unassigned cash payments.
Set up new Subtenant customers, process monthly invoices and send out payment reminders for unpaid invoices.
Set up new Premium Medical Retiree accounts, process quarterly invoices and reach out by email, phone or mail on outstanding invoices.
Assist other team members during high volume periods for collections, cash applications and customer support.
Proactively communicate with management on trends/ activity /challenges daily for assigned areas.
Accurately sort, manipulate and analyze large volumes of data daily for assigned areas.
Monitor all customer service-related inquiries for billing and collections in the various inboxes (AR Mailbox, Salesforce, Membership mailbox)
Provide updates to the Membership team on collection and payment issues during monthly meetings.
Work with the designated Talent contact regarding issues related to Medical Retiree Premium invoices.
Complete financial audit requests associated with your accounts.
Develop and keep current, all standard operating procedures.
Associate degree in Accounting or 2+ years experience in Accounts Receivable
Working knowledge of accounting concepts (debits and credits)
Experience processing customer payments and refunds
Substantive experience with performing accurate and efficient data analysis in MS Excel. Must have knowledge of Pivot tables, and formulas
Experience with Workday ERP – Customer Accounts module
Strong verbal and written communication, problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and to adapt to a fast-changing environment
Must have attention to detail with an eye for accuracy
Strong organization and prioritization with the ability to remain on task
Ability to define problems, collect information, establish facts, and summarize results orally & in writing
Authorization to work in the USA for any employer

The hiring range for a new employee in this position is $48,000 - $75,000. College Board differentiates salaries by location so where you live will narrow the portion of this range in which you can expect a salary.
Your salary will be carefully determined based on your location, relevant experience, the external labor market, and the pay of College Board employees in similar roles.
