Backend Engineer

A few examples of your responsibilities: - Take an active role in identifying the tooling and infrastructure needs of the company, and participate in defining and executing the plan to fulfill them. - Help define the software architecture of new tools or that of new features for existing tools, and then develop them. The work spans broadly from the most infrastructure- or backend-oriented to the development of complex frontends. - Constantly improve the quality of our tools and infrastructure by fixing bugs and refactoring the code base where necessary. - Expand our set of libraries as needed to make yourself and other engineers more efficient and effective. - Stay informed on new, relevant technologies and test the promising ones to make sure we don’t miss out on game-changing opportunities to boost our productivity and the enjoyment of our work.

You read, write, and speak proficiently in English. - Willingness to learn. We mainly use Python, GitHub, CircleCI, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage, and Google Pub/Sub. But it's not a problem if you have little or no experience with them, as long as you’re enthusiastic about learning. We’d be happy to teach you!

The entry-level compensation package for this position includes a salary of €52,246 and a welfare bonus of €1,200. If you already have a few years of relevant work experience, you can expect to earn between €63,965 and €105,737, depending on your expertise. As you gain experience and increase your impact, compensation can grow rapidly. You also have the option to receive some of your pay in company ownership (equity) at a discounted rate.
