Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Very proficient in the C# .NET ecosystem with significant experience with server-side development.
  • Ability to design and code APIs conforming to the OPEN API 3.0 standard. Solid understanding of RESTful API development and experience with JSON, SOAP, or XML based request/response required.
  • Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, and security compliance between environments, servers, and other services.
  • Experienced with backend databases and proficiency in SQL.
  • Scrum master experience. Led projects or teams in the past
  • Prior experience designing and building distributed microservices architecture for the enterprise at scale. Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively. Independent thinking.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders in different time zones. No egos, team player.
  • Git/GitHub or any other distributed version control systems.

Bonus points (Nice to Have):

  • You are located close by to Ottawa, Canada.
  • SMTP related integration or component development
  • Agile development, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Experience with AWS/Cloud technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with messaging queue systems (e.g.: RabbitMQ/Kafka).
  • Experience building, troubleshooting, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with observability and instrumentation tooling.

Responsibilities:

  • With the guidance of our Product team, you will design and develop the new generation APIs for our SaaS product, built for resiliency and scalability.
  • You will improve and refactor existing API endpoints while also building new ones.
  • You will improve the reliability of our API through code unit testing and guidance on end-to-end testing (both manual and automated)
  • You will understand and solve integration needs between numerous applications, data sources and services in our ecosystem.
  • You will be a champion of our API offering and represent engineering with the downstream groups (Operations and Customer support)
