The Opportunity

PRIME Implementation Science Mobilized (PRISM), a property of the Everyday Health Group, is looking for a Senior Director, Strategy to serve as a catalyst for designing innovative research-informed initiatives aimed at improving evidence-based healthcare delivery and patient health outcomes. A core component of this role will be to assess and secure timely funding to support PRISM’s growth.

In this key role, you will monitor the latest therapeutic developments, examine recent peer-reviewed publications, and facilitate discussions with health system champions and expert faculty to identify gaps in care across a diverse range of therapeutic areas. The Senior Director will then spearhead the design of implementation science initiatives which focus on the assimilation of research findings and evidence to develop and integrate interventions focused on improving health outcomes. By understanding the behavior of key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, patients, and/or managed care decision makers, these programs have the potential to advance sustainable uptake, adoption, and implementation of evidence-based interventions that improve patient care. In order to ensure these initiatives are aligned with real-world gaps, the Senior Director will work closely health system champions, population health partners, PRISM’s SVP of Research, and the appropriate Scientific Affairs leads on the design of these implementation science projects. Another key responsibility of this role is to identify, facilitate, and oversee relationships with customers of these initiatives, which will include Medical Affairs and Health Economics & Outcomes Research stakeholders at pharmaceutical/life science companies, and eventually payers and self-insured employers. As such, the Senior Director will attend industry functions, key conferences, and communicate via telephone, electronically and in-person to create consistent opportunities for meaningful and actionable conversations with customers. This includes presenting insights and data pertaining to real-world gaps in care as well as aligned implementation science strategies based on PRISM’s differentiated research and education capabilities.

Additionally, the Senior Director will be expected to provide ongoing updates to customers throughout the lifecycle of funded programs, which include the presentation of key findings and outcomes data in terms program impact and the identification of persistent gaps. Furthermore, this role will report to the Managing Director and collaborate closely with the Senior Leadership to continually refocus and advance PRISM’s strategy based on dynamic opportunities that arise. Such discussions will include, but are not limited to, optimizing operational workflows, strategic partnerships and acquisition opportunities, as well as areas for investment and expected ROI to further accelerate the growth of PRISM.


Position Duties:

  • Monitor the latest therapeutic developments, examine recent peer-reviewed publications, and facilitate discussions with health systems to identify gaps in care and translate these findings into business opportunities
  • Work with health system champions, population health partners, the PRISM Research department, and the appropriate Scientific Affairs leads to effectively design implementation science concepts
  • Identify, facilitate, and manage all aspects of relationships with new and existing customers in Medical Affairs and Health Economics & Outcomes Research departments at pharmaceutical companies
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of targeted potential customers to continuously create opportunities
  • Provide timely, accurate, and effective project updates and outcomes report presentations to customers
  • Evaluate opportunities to expand PRISM’s business to payer and self-insured employer markets
  • Strategize with Senior Leadership on opportunities to further accelerate the growth of PRISM

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of health care industry experience
  • Prior experience in business development in health-related or pharmaceutical industry with an ability to build relationships, develop rapport and identify opportunities
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales goals and building book of business in new verticals
  • Comprehensive understanding of the health care and pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience developing and executing implementation science and/or population health initiatives
  • Highly motivated, self-starter
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
  • Excellent writing and reporting skills, with ability to synthesize complex information in a concise and easy to understand manner
  • Willing to travel
