The position
RES Australia’s multi-faceted Engineering team provides (directly and/or facilitation of others) engineering support across all necessary engineering domains as required for the successful delivery of our Projects. The Civil Engineer is a core member of this Engineering team, and is responsible for scope related to civil engineering.
The Civil Engineer ensures that civil engineering designs and ancillary topics align with the achievement of project objectives (safety, cost, schedule, quality and environmental performance) during each development phase. These services are provided to all Project technologies, including Wind, Solar and Battery storage.
Working within a matrix organisation, the Civil Engineer will be required to support all internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to Project Mangers, Project Engineers, Construction, Commercial, Asset Management, and commercial Team.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop, review, and manage preliminary infrastructure designs and construction corridors for RES’ Projects, including Windfarms, Solar Farms, and BESS.
- Develop, review, and manage technical engineering documents.
- Specify, review, and validate civil engineering assessments, including topographical surveys, geotechnical assessments, construction feasibility, infrastructure layout design, access assessments, and drainage/sediment control.
- Managing external contractors for site surveys, geotechnical investigations, and meteorological monitoring mast installations, in accordance with RES processes and HQSE requirements.
- Enhancing project value and reducing costs (DEVEX, CAPEX, OPEX) through efficient working practices, precise scoping, procurement, and innovative engineering solutions.
- Actively promoting and achieving company safety leadership and sustainability goals.
- Staying informed about local, regional, and national regulations and best practises relevant to civil engineering and renewable energy projects.
