Position Summary
The Network Architect will design, plan, and integrate traditional R/S networks in addition to cloud computing and virtualization infrastructures.
The successful candidate will participate in and contribute expertise to hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, application & data migration Methods and Procedures in order to design highly available and intelligent networks. During the product and services lifecycle, the Network Architect will continue to evolve the infrastructure to meet business needs and requirements. The Network Architect will interface with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Support teams to help design and develop reliable, scalable, and cost-effective systems.
Most importantly, you must possess a passion for mentoring, collaborating, and championing the principles of the architectural process and its value to the organization.
This is a Remote/Work from Home position reporting to the Director of Enterprise Architecture.

What you will do:
  • Design the company’s network architecture and own the roadmap through its lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure the architecture is aligned with business requirements.
  • Create the documentation “artifacts” of the architecture.
  • Work with SMEs, other Solution Architects, sales teams and clients to figure out the best solutions for known and anticipated constraints.
  • Be the trusted technical advisor to network engineering and DevOps teams.
  • Perform design and reviews with peers and stakeholders.
  • Look for problems within the platform and its integrations and work to resolve issues.
  • Ensure the architecture supports transformational technologies (IoT, wireless, sensors etc.)

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science /Information Systems/Engineering/related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience including analyzing, configuring, troubleshooting, designing complex highly available and scalable networks.
  • Excellent knowledge about protocols and technologies that support Voice, Data and video services as a CSP.
  • Experience working with cloud-based network infrastructures – AWS / Azure / GCP, etc. including AWS Direct Connect and Azure Express Route
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • Strong understanding of network routing and switching protocols required.
  • Demonstrated experience with network protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPLS, VRRP, GLBP etc.)
  • Experience deploying cloud/SDN/ SD-Wan technologies.
  • Experience with cloud (AWS, Azure) networks.
  • Deep understanding of cloud security aspects and tools and their integration with applications.
  • Experience with next generation firewall technology (Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet, etc.)
  • Experience using network segmentation, management, automation and orchestration tools (i.e. Cisco DNA center, Cisco Tetration, Illumio and others)
  • Strong documentation and diagraming skills, ensure all network topologies are accurately documented and recorded in Atlassian Confluence.
  • Experience working with Jira Ticketing system, MOP (Method of Procedure) creation and Change Control process adherence.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with the following is desired:
  • IDS / IPS, QOS, and also traffic shaping policies and techniques
  • Experience deploying infrastructure within colos and data centers
  • Deploying IPSec solutions and managing IP ranges and NAT policies
  • Understanding of Cloud connectivity partners, (Megaport, Equinix, Cloud Exchange etc.)
  • Certificates within network/security domain (CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE, etc.)
  • TOGAF certification or similar is helpful but not essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, working within demanding timeframes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a high-quality results-driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion, make sound decisions, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours and travel (up to 5%); will include some overnight travel.
  • Proficient in MS Office, modern communication tools for virtual teams (i.e., MS Teams)

100% Remote: Work environment is at home.
