We are seeking a Localization Quality Specialist to help make our global business model a success. This individual will be responsible for coordinating linguistic quality assurance related projects to support Degreed’s localization efforts in 27 languages. The candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and successfully collaborate with external vendors and internal stakeholders in Sales, CX and Product teams.

Day in the Life
  • Manage localization quality program (LQA program, tools and automations, quality metrics, communication channels and quality assets)
  • Review and report on linguistic quality assurance assessments on a project basis
  • Maintain and optimize linguistic assets: translation memories, term databases, style guides
  • Lead weekly quality and production calls with external vendors, including project managers, linguists and quality assurance specialists
  • Create playbooks for vendors outlining processes, workflows and best practices
  • Educate internal stakeholders to establish localization quality best practices and processes
  • Help manage LSPs and monitor performance using L10N production and L10N quality reporting metrics
  • Onboard and offboard linguistic resources, manage RCAs and arbitration process
Who You Are
  • 3+ years of experience working on a localization team. Specifically, linguistic quality assurance management experience is a must
  • Experience managing translation vendors including invoicing operations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of internationalization and localization standards
  • Knowledge of localization testing best practices (both functional and linguistic)
  • Ability to work independently supporting various stakeholders, exchange feedback and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Preferably multilingual
  • Experience coordinating localization quality assurance programs
  • Translation experience
  • Hands-on experience with translation management and content management systems (TMS, CMS, CAT tools, QA tools)

Work Environment & Physical Demands
Degreed is a remote-first company, however our roles are open to in-office or hybrid if you live in a city with a physical office location. This role has the opportunity to operate 100% virtually from your home office. We primarily collaborate with our US and International colleagues through virtual meetings (Zoom), email, and Slack. In this role, you will be required to operate a laptop computer (PC or Mac available), computer software platforms, and other office productivity machinery as necessary. Due to the nature of this role, you must be able to remain stationary for extended periods, and must be able to observe and interpret written and/or verbal communication.
