Description

ActioNet is looking for a Data Center Operations Manager with an active Public Trust for our Metro Washington, DC, area location. Hybrid work available. ActioNet is an IT service provider and solutions integrator headquartered in Vienna, VA, that works with the Federal Government.

In this role, you will deliver the services identified in the contract. You will be the main Point of Contact (POC) for the ongoing operation of the data center and shall oversee technical. IT issues, including all aspects of data center operations. In this role, you will ensure cohesiveness between all Tiers, develop, execute process improvements, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. The right candidate will work well with a team, exhibit excellent customer service skills, and be self-motivated, seeking ways to improve the environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and direction for Project and Program management staff related to Data Center Operations, providing client and project management support, leading to high-quality client delivery.
  • Ensures that projects adhere to ActioNet’s Quality Management System, including ActioNet tools and industry best practices, and that adequate status reporting, reviews, and other control tools are employed to keep projects on track and customers fully informed of status.
  • Oversees effective management of computer and server operations, data entry, data security, data center security, data quality control, application performance, and management of the services and applications used for data center management.
  • Manage all contractor data center employees and ensure successful execution of the requirements of this performance work statement.
  • Manage appropriate service level agreements within this performance work statement and report performance to the appropriate Government staff.
  • Architect, implement, and maintain network hardware and configurations.
  • Deliver stable and responsive application, server, data storage, backup services and software for various data center environments.
  • Ensure the security and compliance requirements of networks and protected data.
  • Direct Disaster Recovery initiatives from an infrastructure perspective, including documenting recovery procedures of all critical components.
  • Develop and maintain existing customer relationships to foster program growth.
  • Monitor progress to meet deadlines, standards, and cost targets.

Qualifications (required)

  • Eight (8) or more years as a Data Center Operations Manager for the Federal Government,
  • Significant experience supporting Federal Healthcare agencies (e.g., Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC))
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • ITIL 4 certification
  • Managed a team of over 50+ IT professionals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Information Systems or related field.
  • Data Center certification (ex., VMWare DCV, CCNA Data Center, etc)
