Job objectives and responsibilities

  • The Building Fabric Manager will assist the Fabric Programme Manager role in delivering a national programme of work to support Mitie's largest and most respected community banking contract with an extensive UK&I estate which comprises of retail, offices, and critical sites
  • Role will be home based with potential travel across the UK
  • Liaise with key stakeholders in the client teams with occasional Landlord interactions, and collaborating across the Mitie operational and service line business
  • Support in the development, coordination and programme management of a robust cyclical fabric condition survey programme, and the coordination of key specialist suppliers to undertake this programme
  • Production of timely and accurate reports on the scale, complexity, and condition of the estate – identifying any issues preventing the estate being fit for purpose and available
  • Support identification and monitoring of risks, as well as any related remediation management and reporting in a timely and accurate manner
  • Engage with Mitie colleagues to ensure any remediation works are coordinated with wider FMR and Lifecycle Planning, to ensure an integrated end to end programme.
  • Align with key stakeholders to determine task stream owners, sponsors, and subject matter experts
  • Support the build of project plans and dependencies through scope planning, schedule development, resource planning and cost budgeting
  • Ensure that the programme is consistently delivered in a uniform manner
  • In addition to the duties and responsibilities outlined you may be required to perform other duties assigned and requested by the Programme Manager

Person Specification

  • Previous experience of managing large scale/value complex building fabric programmes desired
  • Knowledge of CDM roles, responsibilities, and management desired
  • Interest in and firm knowledge of the built environment, including building regulations and health and safety legislation
  • Knowledge of building construction methods and construction drawing interpretation
  • Be analytically minded, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to quicky build rapport and relationship with the client and other key stakeholders
  • Enthusiastic personality
  • Dedicated team player
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail

Health and Safety responsibilities

  • Always follow Group and company policies and procedures
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received
  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system;

Information Security

  • Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities
  • Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager
  • Report all actual and suspected security incidents
