We have a vacancy for a full-time Business Support Team Leader in our Truro office supporting the work of the Early Help Hub and Multi Agency Referral Unit in Together for Families. The primary role of a Business Support Team Leader is to provide essential support in the delivery of those services, supporting operational colleagues and ensuring timely communications with service users and partner agencies. This is a hybrid role and will involve a combination of office/home working. There will be an expectation that the successful candidate will work from the office when there is a business need to do so.

The successful applicant will undertake workload management and conduct regular one to one sessions and annual appraisals, training and support to a number of Business Support Assistants in order to ensure a high quality, consistent admin support service. You will have responsibility for a range of tasks including records management, meeting administration, financial transactions and input of information to the Case Management System.

Whilst the location/work base for these roles has been specified, our evolving ways of working means that the role will require you to work remotely (e.g. from home/other locations). We work flexibly to most effectively support the people, services and organisations that we support and will discuss this with you during the recruitment process. There will be a requirement to assist with the delivery of business support within our core business hours, Monday – Thursday, 08.45 - 17.15 & Friday 08.45 - 16.45,

About You:

Applicants should have 4 GCSEs (A-C), or equivalent, including English and Maths, excellent keyboard skills and significant experience of general office procedures.

You will also have good supervisory, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise appropriately with all levels of professional staff, service users and other agencies. A professional approach applying discretion and diplomacy is essential. We also required flexibility and the ability to enjoy the challenge of working within a busy team environment, producing good quality, accurate outputs while often working to deadlines.

The Together for Families directorate provides support to children and families within the county. Cornwall Council is an evolving and developing organisation that requires a level of responsiveness within its services and from its employees.
