This position is located in the Program Results and Impact Monitoring for Epidemic Control (PRIME) in the Office of the U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator and Health Diplomacy (S/GAC). The Supervisory Epidemiologist is responsible for the Data Use for Impact Team (DUIT) and is responsible for overseeing the programmatic and epidemiological data analyses for the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment programs, and the systematic assessment.

Duties
Leads the development and maintenance of guidance documents pertaining to various dimensions of data collection, analysis, and use, incorporating input from units within S/GAC, U.S. Government PEPFAR implementing agencies and country stakeholders.
Designs and administers planning and controls for submission of data, including forming the basis of budget and program resource requests and decisions.
Coordinates with epidemiologists, health scientists, and analysts working with other country offices to ensure quality and integrity of data used to report on progress toward achieving epidemic control and provide accountability for PEPFAR resources
Coordinates with leadership to recommend U.S. Government strategic information-related positions and views on strategies, initiatives and current programs that aim to improve the prevention, treatment and care of HIV/AIDS.

Qualifications

Applicants MUST meet the Basic Requirements below:
Education: Bachelor’s or graduate/higher level degree: major in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences, or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.

IN ADDITION to meeting the basic requirements above, you MUST have at least one year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position; is related to the work of the position; is equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service; and demonstrates the following:

Experience developing authoritative directives, memoranda, and policy statements regarding HIV/AIDS programs.
Experience providing recommendations on data collection, data management and analysis to make strategic decisions.
Experience establishing liaison with stakeholders to develop strategies, initiatives and programs to improve the prevention, treatment and care of HIV/AIDS.

In addition, applicant's experience must also demonstrate that the candidate possesses the following qualities:

Ability to assign, review, and supervise the work of others;
Objectivity and fairness in judging people on their ability, and situations on the facts and circumstances;
Ability to adjust to change, work pressures, or difficult situations without undue stress;
Willingness to consider new ideas or divergent points of view; and
