Part of the Kier Group, KDaBS is an autonomous multi-D consultancy (ranked an impressive 54th Building Magazine’s Top 150 Consultants 2021 table) providing services to both our established base of external clients and a growing internal Kier Construction pipeline (where we compete with other consultancies to secure design commissions).

Our client and project base encompasses the design of education, blue light, commercial, healthcare, leisure, and more; but particular focal points for our recruitment at this time are:
- Low carbon design: Recent exciting strategic wins are consolidating our position as a leading LowC design team, positively contributing to reducing the UK’s carbon emissions;
- Education projects: The Kier Construction business provides KDaBS with a significant pipeline of new build design projects.
Role: We are currently looking to recruit an MEP Clerk of Works to join our established multi-D team in our Liverpool (Speke) office.
Working as an integral part of our design team, you will be specialising in the delivery aspect of building construction programmes, producing high quality, comprehensive reports and checking drawings and specifications to ensure projects are completed within agreed cost and budget parameters.
You will also provide sound technical and practical support to the multi-disciplinary teams and act as contract administrator on smaller building projects, ensuring change control approvals are properly authorised and actively working to prevent any contractor or client claims arising from KWS service delivery.
What do we need from you?

You will be technically competent and have knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts, including full service and Design and Build. It is key to be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of building construction, with an ability to analyse work by designers and give guidance on best practice, whilst showing a great awareness of the impact on other disciplines.
Benefits: You can expect a competitive salary and benefits package that includes; matched pension scheme up to 7.5%; 26 days’ annual leave + bank holidays (with opportunity to buy or sell holiday); an employee Share Scheme; and a wide ranging retail discount scheme.
