Ready to further your career in the fast-paced, exciting world of cyber security?

Arctic Wolf, with its unicorn valuation, is the leader in security operations in an exciting and fast-growing industry—cybersecurity. We have won countless awards for our excellence in security operations and remain dedicated to providing an industry-leading customer and employee experience.

Our mission is simple: End Cyber Risk. We’re looking for a UX Designer to be part of making this happen.

About the Role

We are looking for a UX Designer who will work closely with Agile development teams to design features and improvements to the Arctic Wolf product suite. You will work directly with Product Management and Developers to evaluate solution ideas, design prototypes, implement solutions, and validate those solutions with end users.

To be considered for this role, you should be able to provide several examples that demonstrate how you approach design, how you work with others, and what you have learned from each experience. You should come ready to showcase your skills and capabilities related to your problem-solving methods, attention to detail, well-crafted design, and the outcomes of your work.

Responsibilities
  • You will work with UX Researchers to facilitate collaborative research workshops with stakeholders across the organization; prioritizing the results into actionable roadmaps that will generate measurable outcomes

  • You will work with Product leads, UX Researchers, and Developers to identify opportunities and deliver strategic design experiences that exceed customer expectations

  • You will design user journeys, user flows, wireframes, mockups, for new or improved features for product development teams

  • You will design interfaces with a strong understanding of technical constraints, business objectives, and customer expectations in mind

  • You must communicate and present to key stakeholders on product development teams throughout the lifecycle of new or improved features; maintaining a culture of transparency and collaborative feedback

  • You will create and perform usability tests to validate designs and suggest iterative improvements to Arctic Wolf products

  • You will contribute to Arctic Wolf Design Guidelines, Design Principles and Design System

We value a culture of sharing, so every team has the opportunity to share their work with the entire department during our monthly R&D Demos. Once a year we hold a department-wide Hackathon, teaming up across all R&D teams, over four days, to collaborate and build cool ideas outside the normal project scope. With innovation as the focus, some of these ideas will become features in our products.

Basic Qualifications
  • Visual design expertise demonstrated through high-fidelity mockups, wireframes, user flows, interaction models, prototypes, or other applicable work

  • Fluency in best practices for information architecture, interaction design, user-centered design processes, and user experience principles

  • Proficiency using modern design and prototyping tools (Figma, Miro, etc.) to solve complex problems and communicate in visually stunning detail

  • Highly collaborative and able to facilitate design workshops and/or support the workshops through note-taking, synthesis and communication strategies.

  • Some experience working in an Agile development environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with an ability to present to and influence other designers, PMs, and senior executive management

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to comprehend complex, technical product requirements

  • Strong ability to create complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization

  • Demonstrated experience leading design projects in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team including designers, product managers, and software developers

  • Ambitious desire for innovation, balanced with business needs, and customer expectations

  • Demonstrated experience defining and refining design patterns, standards, methods, and/or processes

  • Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate a bias for action in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment

  • Demonstrated experience with basic usability testing, familiar and/or experienced with several other primary research methods

  • Demonstrated experience relying on analytics and data to help shape product decisions and empower tracking the effectiveness of change

  • Demonstrated experience measuring the impact of your work against key business and customer experience goals

  • Experience or working knowledge of current web technologies and trends: HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Responsive Design, web accessibility, etc.

  • Previous security experience is preferred but not required. We provide all the cybersecurity training you need during onboarding and on-the-job training

Interview Process

The interview process is approximately as follows:

  • Phone pre-screening: A recruiter contacts you to briefly discuss your work history and provide an overview of Arctic Wolf. Approximately 30 minutes.

  • Technical assessment: Several team members will conduct an interview to learn more about your experiences and skills. Be prepared to present and discuss past projects and your career goals. Approximately 1 hour.
